Hi all,

I struggled for a while trying to make a post with photos.

After making an album in Picasa - it was actually pretty easy.

How do you store your photos to share here?

I see lots of people cataloging their permie/homestead adventures...

...and I'd like to do the same!

Just trying to find the optimal way to do so with photos.

Also, I have an iphone and it'd be choice to set it up to "automatically" put photos into a linkable album.

Anyone have any thoughts or tips?

The method that works best for me is to use the "attachments" tab immediately below the text entry area for the post. The choose "upload a file" to select the photo(s) you wish to use in the post.

Another thing you can do--that many of us staff and pollinators do--is make a thread in a private forum that you upload (via the attachement tab) your pictures to. Then you can embed them in your posts, or even elsewhere on the web.

If you have PIE, or access to a private permies forum like the Secret Inner Circle, you could create a image thread there. I'll give you a piece of pie so you can try it out!

(Few things about private forums like the Pie Only forum, is that the threads themselves are not seen by Google. BUT, any picture that is uploaded there, can be embedded and viewed outside of that private forum. Also, if you lose access to the private forum--like you run out of PIE--you lose access to your pictures. But, Pie can be earned by making good posts that earn apples. 20 apples=1 piece of pie!)

Sites like picassa and photobucket will often times wait a few days and then overlay an advertisement on your image.  And at some point they insist that you pay them money "or else" - and suddenly the image that is here has been replaced with a full advertisement.

So you can find old threads here where somebody is talking about a cool project but all the images are just ads for a photo storage site.

Thanks for the replies everyone - somehow I forgot I posted this inquiry, wasn't getting notifications about it.  I'll have to spend some time tinkering with this over the winter when I've got some more free time and find the best solution for me.  I'm eager to post and share more here on this forum and get input from everyone.  Thanks guys!
