Turning off Pie and Apple emails

Me: The whole pies things is confusing and odd.
I would just as soon not get emails about apples and pies.
Don't know if there is a way you can set that in preferences.

Me: Hmm... I just checked and I already have email about apples turned off.

Me: So, here I am. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to turn off the apple and pie notifications and they mean nothing to me. I am not motivated by the apples and pies and don't use them.

Hmm, I looked at it from my end (I'm still learning all the fancy buttons) and as far as I can tell, you have the correct radio button deselected so that you shouldn't get the apple alerts.  Not sure what's going on with that.  Hopefully someone with more know-how can figure it out for us...

I think we have verified that if you turn off apple announcement stuff that you don't get notified when you get an apple.  Can you confirm that that part is working correctly?

I think that the email you are getting is when somebody gives you PIE or when you have earned so many apples that you get free PIE.   And, to compound matters, we currently send out four reminders as the PIE is expiring.

There are five of us in a staff meeting right now and we are talking about this - your concern about too many emails.   And we agree that there needs to be a change or two to the codebase to make this more comfortable for you.  

At the moment I think we need two changes:

   - cut the PIE expiration reminder stuff from 4 to 2.

   - add the ability to get zero notifications about PIE


But it seems like the first step is to get some clarity on your experience and what you would like best.

It seems that if somebody gives you PIE, you might like to know about that.  At the same time, perhaps you want zero reminders about PIE expiring.    ??
