Hey friend,
Elderberries grow across the entire north American continent, in all 50 states I believe and through much of Canada.  So while it is possible you can't grow where you are, generally just about everyone can grow some variety or cultivar of elder.

Out west, much depends on your location, elevation, rainfall, etc.    If you are nothing too out of the ordinary, then it becomes just a matter of choosing varieties and cultivars to try, and asking around to see who or what already likes your area to grow!

I am outside Sacramento, and I have taken a bunch of local elderberry. cuttings this year. If you are interested, I could send you some to try growing.

Morning came much too soon and it brought along a friend named Margarita Hangover, and a tiny ad.
