Hi!

I’m growing a lemon tree inside and I think it might be getting too much light (the new leaves are purple-brown, burning)?

I’d like your opinion here.

in my opinion the leaves are not getting too much light, and also i don't think there is anything wrong. i think the leaves will gain more color as they grow out.

potentially i am wrong, and this is indicating something, but if anything i would think it would be a nutrition deficiency. however i still say, it's ok.

potentially also, there are some strains that show pink and reddish leaves, variegated. the 'Eureka' lemon is one that has this quality, so if this lemon is related it might be a natural occurance. this is where the pink lemon comes from - a mutation of the 'eureka'. other strains of lemon often have reddish color on the new growth, which should change to a dark green as the leaves grow.

That is the normal way new leaves grow on Lemon trees.  Lemon trees are generally full sun loving plants, just like most fruit bearing trees (some of the tropical fruit trees want some shade when they are first starting out with some needing shade for a few hours through out their lives) want as much sun light as possible.
Lemons won't ripen without full sun or they will ripen very slowly.

agreed. looks pretty normal. many trees can have purplish growth before the leaves expand. i had a potted mango seedling that was like that. have definitely seen it in lemons as well.

The only other thing to add that hasn't been mentioned is, the need to expose the tree to the full natural light spectrum as per the Sun or special purpose indoor plant lighting.

Normal domestic indoor lighting generally has various decrees of a mixed colour spectrum, some more or less red, blue, etc.

Red and blue wavelengths are needed for foliage, root and fruit development.

this is supposed to be a surprise, but it smells like a tiny ad:
