Whether eaten raw, dried or in tea; marshmallow root mixed with spilanthes does the trick. I dry marshmallow root and make tea. Once the tea is ready to drink I add spilanthes tincture and drink.

I gargle this solution 3 times a day:
  • 1 TBSP Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 TBSP Lemon Juice
  • 1 tsp Salt dissolved in just enough hot water to dissolve the salt

  • In my experience the heat of the salt water is no big deal as it gets cooled off with the room temperature vinegar and lemon juice. But wait for it to cool if you think it is too hot to gargle.

Step 1: Take a sip and gargle as long as you can manage, spit it out. If you see little red bits of yuckiness after you spit- that's the nasty sore from the back of your throat coming loose :)
Step 2: Repeat step 1 until solution is gone

Lately I have only ever remembered to do this once a day because I forget to get to it 3 times a day like I should, but even then it has proven very successful in preventing sore throats from fully developing when caught early enough and it has helped worse ones to heal in record time.

I make a rosemary mouthwash that can be used as a gargle. It is basically a rosemary tea.

Wellnessmama has a good recipe for a tinture that combines cloves, peppermint, plantain, rosemary and cinnamon:

I have not made this one though I know cloves, plantian and rosemary are good for healing mouth and throat problems.  I prefer teas over tintures in this case.

I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody. Instead, I'm a tiny ad.
