Hello members!

I just discovered this forum and I am so glad I did!

We are located in Columbia, MO and have been doing some research on building a Cob house in our land. We are outside the city limits, but still in the county so we have to deal with some regulations. I guess my questions are:

1- Are there any local or close enough programs, groups, organizations that we could join as a community to help us learn and navigate this adventure?

2- Has anyone built a Cob House in this area?

We need help with education, building, and navigating the permit system.

I have reached out to Silverseeds, I found them through a google search, as well as I saw they were mentioned here. I am hoping to hear back soon, but I also wanted to see what other people here know about starting on this adventure.

Thank you!!!

Hello, fellow Missourian here. I don't know much about cob myself, but I know there's an eco village in NE Missouri that does programs.

I’m also in Boone County just outside Columbia and I’ve been really thinking about building a Cobb home. Have you found anything out?

Totally off-topic, but I love seeing threads about Columbia pop up -- I lived there through most of the '90s and find myself back in mid-MO about once a year.
