I'm getting a new gas furnace tomorrow.
Shopped hard, found the best price and craftsman put of 5 different companies.
I'm certain I could have installed it myself, but furnace supply places here only
sell to licensed hvac contractors.
I noticed removal of the old furnace as part of the service an the invoice.
I don't even pay the disposal fee for tires, so I certainly didn't want you pay for that.
I told them that another company was cheaper and If they would match them, I would scrap the furnace myself.
He said I could keep or not but they would match the price either way.
So I saved 100 dollars and gained a furnace.
The furnace is evidently fine except for the heat exchanger, a part that is covered by warranty
Even with with the part paid for it was gonna cost half as much as a new furnace to have a legit company to repair it,so I'm buying a new one.
What
should do with this one?
-repair it and sell it?
-Sell it as is?
-repair it and keep it as a spare?
-repair it, convert it to burn propane, install it at my yarden
greenhouse?
-Scrap it for pennies and parts to make a
wood shop dust collector.
Tell me what you think I should do.
