Lesson 9: Forsythia
In this lesson, I discuss the edible and medicinal value of Forsythia. It is one of out first spring flowers, and a good medicine.

Great to learn that forsythia is more than just a pretty flower in spring!

I did not consider the uses for the flowers off of the Forsythia. I have been utilizing the plant for biomass but now I might consider the medicinal value or even the value of making it into tea when we get the blooms this year.

I've heard the flowers make a unique addition to a gin and tonic which is my favorite adult beverage. Still have to try that!

I have made a flower-infused honey with the forsythia flowers, the bitter note gives the honey a nice “burnt caramel” flavor.
