Hello,

I'm looking for someone that has had experience building small, low tables by cutting a cookie off of a log and sticking some legs in it.  How badly will a 4" thick slice crack and split over time?

Thanks,

I build a stool like you described and now there is a big crack. If you buried it in sand to dry slower it might crack less.

They will likely crack extensively. Using a sealer like Anchorseal can help a lot. Some woods crack more than others, and different drying conditions will affect them also.
