A food forest is being built on 5 acres between Mt Tahoma/Rainier and Tacoma.

The new goal/intention is to create housing and space for women to live here.

The original intention of the Sanctuary was to steward and protect the land for the wildlife that lives on it and to create a Sanctuary where people would come to heal their relationships to nature.

Creating a foundation for people to be comfortable and have their needs provided has proven to be the more challenging of the tasks.

Currently, a trust has been created and the land payed off.

There is only one building. A 200sf unfinished tiny house/shack that I live in part time.

We are almost finished building a massive solar system that will give us nearly as much power as a small household uses.

There are two streams that dry up in summer. We are 10 minutes from a lake, within 20 minutes of multiple rivers. Three 100ft waterfalls within an hour. 20min from national forest/edge of civilization. 20 min from Safeway, Fred Meyer, Walmart, and public library.

1 hour from Olympia, Tacoma, and Seattle, so great access to the economic artery.

Some of our next steps include

-expanding the driveway
-a large metal building for "community kitchen" with cob oven and heated benches
-massive orchard planting in spring
-finish solar system
-greenhouse
-build a new chicken coop
-lots of food planting and beds to build
-buying 2500g tanks for water catchment

I have built a couple very successful businesses taking permaculture professional.

Most of the work I do is hard physical work. From forestry/tree work to building and carpentry, to working the earth, building beds, etc.

As a result most of the people I work with are men. I am around men all day, every day, and most of the visitors who stay at the Sanctuary end up being men.

I turn 30 this month, and I have a large community of talented guys. Ranging in age from 20-33. With I terests ranging from hunting, building, plant medicine, martial arts, massage, and beyond to include most everything permaculture, as well as various arts.

Women who express interest in visiting or staying here often get turned off when they hear that there are no women here. So a lot more women will be comfortable here if there are some women here to begin with.

Additionally, the guys moral, work ethic, and enthusiasm inevitably goes up when there are women around.

The feminine touch and energy is sorrily lacking in every area of my world from the businesses to the community and my personal life.

I am certain that this little piece of the world would transform and bloom on a whole new level under the influence of the right woman/women.

It is true that infrastructure is still being built, but we have something pretty amazing going on, and you have an opportunity to shape and Influence it.

Having a van or bus to start from is very ideal.

We are now working towards getting 100-1000 acres with this as a nursery and launch point for many future properties the community invests in.

Hi,
I am very interested in your project near the beautiful mountain. I am female! 44  years old and full of energy for plants, landscaping, art, community, dancing, singing, playing drums, art houses, having sacred conversation, bringing the vision, watching the stars and just enjoying life while I'm here. Did I say art? My whole life is art with many sub-arts. The art of conversation, the art of listening (help!), the art of harmony, the art of inventing new stuff, the art of love in it's more pure and less personal form. I want to plant a circle of trees with a gap for the door and grow them so their trunks all merge together. After 50 years you have a tree house.

I am interested in spreading the love, but not the kind we usually talk about. The whole world is your cousin kind of love is more like it. (hint hint, anyone else that may be reading. message me.)

For some reason, I have found myself in the middle of a lot of males several times in my life. I am not worried about that. I love it when men really surprise me with their depth. And sensitivity. Men can be hidden creatures. I myself have never been in a relationship I felt so confident in that I would get married. Maybe I'm just too realistic that life changes.

I hope to find more women to work with myself. I don't understand women, in general, either. I have some good old female friends who I love, and appreciate. I love sister energy. Sister energy is where it's at! Then again gender isn't really the key here.

Anyway, I would love to know more about your project. It sounds like a whole lotta potential!!! Good intentions too.
May the force be with you!
