Hello,

I've planted quite a few plants, and since I have no idea what most of them looks like, I have a few plant pots which I have absolutely no idea what is growing into them.

And since I sometime use soil from the garden, and since there is also the wind that can bring seeds into these pots, I'm pretty sure none of what I have next is something I planted. To make it even funnier, I'm sure I planted some Verbena Officinalis (common Vervein), but I'm not sure about the rest.

I've divided the photo in nine, so that it's a bit easier to tell which plant is which. I'm sure none of them are anything I planted, but if anyone can help identify them, that would be great:

If you need more photos, or a different angle, please ask. They all look like common weeds to me, none of them have any smell when I rub their leaves.

I have no idea, but I have an app on my phone PlantNet that identifies plants. I have used it several times, and I think it's pretty cool.

If you are lucky and this turns out to be horseweed then it is a medicinal plant.

Here is the thread about it being medicinal:

Flea Bane and Joe Pye Weed... Boneset White Snake Root, Horseweed... probably a few others... (Erigeron and Eupatorium) tea used for bladder complaints and painful urination.

Here is one about feeding it to rabbits:

Thanks for the late reply. I say late, because if I'm unlucky it's medicinal... because I removed them from their pot yesterday !

It's not too much of an issue though, as it grew on its own, so I'll probably find it again in the garden. Beside, I have so many medicinal planted and planned, one might wonder if I'm not hosting a hospital.

I don't have rabbit yet though one day I might. Protein/meat production is clearly something I'll come to do one day. Especially since I eat meat often.

I was thinking that you were planting a medicinal garden?  Or am I confusing you with someone else?

I am planting EVERYTHING. And focusing on the medicinal part a lot. However, a lot of things I am planting, I have never even heard of them before, so I don't know what they look like when growing. This mean that in some case, when I use some soil from the garden (or even bought potting soil), I have plants growing in them, my seedling dies, and I end up caring for something completely different. An exaggeration would be to attempt to grow some rosemary, it dies but something sprouted with it making you confuse with it... and after a few weeks you realize you have been taking care of a dandelion ! (which is not the worst plant to take care of, I agree).

Maybe I was not clear in my post: I discarded the plants in this thread yesterday, as I am running short on pots and had no idea about their use or identity. I bought 40 pots the other day, and will have to buy 100 more really soon.

If it's indeed medicinal, well it will be like a quite a few plants I already have growing here. They were there before I moved in, and so I will find them again.

A sonic boom would certainly ruin a giant souffle. But this tiny ad would protect it:
