Hi all,

I stumbled in the www. onto a YouTube Video where a guy shows several times a Zero Energy Water Barrel Pump
and as a very experienced hands on technician (44 years in the matter) practically working with all kind of plumbing and pumps,
I can only say it's complete nonsense.

Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z9EGjVSwI1Q&list=RDCMUCyv92QJe_yAaXkyKkRnC4Nw&start_radio=1&rv=z9EGjVSwI1Q&t=0

I commented on one of his videos pretty rude (sorry but it makes me angry) and stated that I see only one thing:
If you are smart you can make with a minimum investment a decent coin as "YouTuber" like this guy who earns between 2.3 and 0.2 MILLION clicks.

He replied (off cause) "I have no clue" and he has build many times this specific pump.

I would like to see here the Permie Community giving some statements and off cause also people who did build this pump.
BUT as described with the water source BELOW the outlet and not ABOVE, which is then a syphon with some extra features like valves and barrel.

I am not talking about a Ram Pump where the oldest one is in France (1796) and patented 1797 in England until we Germans improved it 1816 pumping 18 meters high as far I know.
But also the Ram Pump needs water fed from a higher level than the Pump itself.

If this guy has developed the perpetuum mobile then I raise my hat, but he said he will NOT build a transparent system to proof it.

I know that some of our for me high valuated Forum Members especially in this very peaceful and responsible forum are living on a small coin and like to safe money when the chance comes, but this HOAX is a waste of money.

Anything you move from A to B needs energy and even in a rate of 100% Energy input and 99.999999.......% Energy return, it will not be nonstop running.

Cheers for any statement or even proof me wrong if it works.

No magic there ; it is a syphon. The trick is having the outlet pipe of greater diameter then the inlet pipe and having it flow downhill enough to overcome the resistance of the inlet side.
The reducer on the outlet is so he cannot drain faster then the barrel can fill up. The section of vertical pipe on the outlet is a buffer in case there are air pockets in the system which would break the siphon action. It is interesting. Is he charging money for it? I do wish people would demonstrate how it works instead of pretending it's some sort of hidden secret. In this case gravity is the energy input. There are losses to friction in the tubing. All the tubing and the barrel have embedded energy costs as well that are not accounted for in the description either. So energy laws have not been violated here
Cheers, David

Yes David,

so we are on the same page.
He pretends that he pulls the water from a lower source (River or one video shows a well) and delivers it to a higher spot.

In one Video he shows that he takes it out of a bucket using a softer barrel from plastic but he also avoid there, to show the bucket that should be running empty or at least the water level should drop.
All he shows is that the manually filled barrel drains and the video stops before the barrel is fully empty.

Fact, he didn't find the stone of wisdom but telling people he has...

This will not work without increasing in some way pressure to the inlet.

Even I could pay today for an entirely transparent System, I feel not to throw my money out of the window.

As I was young and short of coin I used a hose to nick fuel from cars on the scrapyard by simply using a hose, sucking until I got a good gulp in my mouth and the tank got emptied.
When I lifted the hose end higher than the tank the flow stopped and the fuel in the hose returned to the tank.

The sad fact is that this guy might not even know it's syphoning.

Yup. It's why I stopped tilting at windmills on YouTube. My grandfather would say:  stop wrestling with a pig; you end up covered in mud and the pig enjoys it...
