If anybody is more of an authority on Intentional Community, I don't know who it would be.

Among many other things, Diana is the author of Creating a Life Together: Practical Tools to Grow Ecovillages and Intentional Communities and  Finding Community: How to Join an Ecovillage or Intentional Community .    She was the editor of Communities Magazine for 14 years.

And she's coming to the pacific northwest!

First, she'll be the keynote speaker at the Ninth Annual Village Building Convergence, Portland on June 13th.

On June 26th she'll be in Seattle teaching a half day workshop "Antidotes to Five Common Kinds of Community Conflict"

On June 29th she'll be hanging out with me all day.  Oh yes, I am a wicked name dropper.  Yes, yes, yes, me and Diana, we hang out ...  well ... you know how it is ... me and the celebrities and all ....  none of you are invited.  But!  That evening at 6 we will be attending a potluck at Sharingwood Community followed by Diana giving an ecovillage slideshow at 7.  This will be in Maltby (between woodinville and monroe - about a half hour from seattle).  Details are here.

On June 30th Diana will be giving a slideshow in Langley, WA.

And!  As if that's not enough, Diana is going to spend TWO WHOLE WEEKS hanging out with us!  And just for giggles, she gave me a sack of goodies to hand out.  Four books and a ticket to her workshop on the 26th.

Here's how it'll work.  On June 22 I'll run my goofy little winner-picker program and it will show me four posts from this forum.  I'll pick the best one of those to get the ticket.  I'll then run the program again to show me 10 posts and I'll pick four of those to get the books.  So the more often you post, the better your chances of getting goodies.  But if your post is lame, it probably won't lead to goodies.

Welcome Diana!

Welcome, Diana!

For those that haven't read her books, give them a go. The books have great insights and experiences for those interested in ICs, big or small.

Wish I was in the PNW to attend the events, alas, I'll have to check in here for updates.

Kind regards,

See & clan

That's great!  I have her book, Creating a Life Together.  Don't know how much I'll be posting as my home computer is broken.

Thanks so much!!  I'm very excited to learn more in this space. A friend of mine who manages some rental properties just told me she was interested in turning this little group of close-knit buildings into a community. I hope she's able to make it to Diana's slideshow out at Sharingwood on Monday (6/29).
