I spotted this tree on campus,  I think it might be a linden/lime/basswood tree:

No photo?
Look for asymmetrical heart-shaped leaves.  The fruit are a pretty obvious clue.  Out native basswood has BIG leaves, the european lindens are planted all over, they have much smaller leaves.

Wait 'til it blooms.  Their fragrance is very powerful.  I really like it but if you haven't smelled it first, you may not want this tree in your yard.
