In search of a couple or person to live on our farm and care for the animals. Gardening and taking care of the property. We have 2 gardens that need help. I’d love for one to be no till. The other can be a kitchen garden where you could walk through and pick what is needed for cooking. We have tiny homes for people to come experience the simple, peaceful life that our farm provides. The animals are small scale. We raise them for food and would share from what we process. Food from our gardens and eggs from our chickens, quail ducks guineas and a few turkeys. We’ve had a few people come out but have not found someone long term. Some people are great with gardening but not willing to learn the livestock or the other way around.

We have room to put a nice camper down (if you do not have your own) and housing/utilities would be covered. You would have a weekly pay plus opportunities to earn commission. We'd love to offer tours of the garden and animals. Or if youre passionate about a certain subject maybe a class you can make your own. These are things we really envision for our farm. All we need is the right person or pair to join us on our journey to a sustainable life.

Contact me with a little bit on why you'd like to move to the farm and your knowledge on garden/animals. Thank you.

Might help to include the state.  I am assuming this is NC, but there may be other Lake Lures out there…

Hello Meghan, my name is Brian and my wife is April I love working with animals and my wife loves the garden and vegetables and maybe if it's possible I could leave my email with you and you could get in touch with me and I can send you some pictures with our animals I've raised goats, chickens ,pigs. And tell you a little bit about ourselves.
We are new to this site so I thought an email would be a little more personal and detailed

Hi there, I'd love to discuss your offer, if it's still available. I've been homesteading, property managing (based on regenerative principles) and practicing permaculture, as well as tending various small livestock, for over 10 years now. I use to live in Asheville and homesteaded off grid in Black Mountain (to include Earth Haven where I helped manage an edible plant nursery), Burnsville (Mountain  Gardens with Joe Hollis) and Marshall. Edible Forest gardening, hugelkultur and organic gardening are my main specialty and I've consulted, project managed, installed and maintained them in various climate zones, to include (most recently) Arizona. But, I've dipped my hands on all manor of projects. I just returned to the east coast after spending over a year project managing for an upscale xeriscaping company in Arizona and I'm looking for a new adventure, a new challenge and more of a home. At some point, I'd like to have my own land to manage. I'm a recently divorced, middle aged white male, veteran, in exceptional health, my kids are all grown and I'm on my own, though i do have a companion, an Australian Cattle Dog who's also dying for a job. If you'd like to discuss more details, I can be reached at mediblegardens@gmail.com or 828-423-3515. References can be provided. Thank you.

Good Afternoon!
I may be too late for your consideration as I see this post is from a few years ago. But I thought I would reach out anyway.
I have a very unique situation, and an even more unique skill set.
In the shortest and most honest description possible, I'd like to propose what I can offer for your review.
I'm a 47 year old female, who has the tenacity to climb Mount Everest but cut down a tree if needed. I have a son that's 20 years old, in college for physics.
I am single, and might choose to stay that way forever.
I'm willing to do anything and everything you require, at any time of day 7 days a week, potentially without pay, if you can offer housing or a space for housing.
My love and understanding for animals is greater than my love for people.
I have experienced more life than most, good and bad.
What I'm looking for it is a peaceful and safe place where I can provide care for animals, nature, and people if needed.
My true purpose is a caregiver to all, but especially animals, gardens, and nature/land. I have no fear of getting dirty (poop) to do so!

My nature is to work relentlessly, the only thing I need is a safe place to stay.
I live minimally, and if I had any free time, I enjoy cooking for anyone that may need it, writing my novel, and creating art.
I'm the most honest person you will ever come across in the kindest way, but strong and assertive.
I'm just a human, who is struggling to support herself after losing everything through no fault of my own.
I can offer 100% dedication, a phenomenal work ethic, and I'm willing work unpaid, in order to have a safe roof over my head until I can show my value.
I would just need a moment to relocate from Pennsylvania, but I am a doer and a quick mover.
I have pretty extensive experience that does meet the requirements you've listed and I'm happy to share them with you.
I very much appreciate you taking the time to read this.
Have an excellent day!

I am sure that this position is filled, sadly.  I have the background and experience in everything and more that you are seeking.  57 year old single woman with no bad habits.  Masters degree in Education.  Lifetime experience in farming/livestock/horse/permaculture/wildcrafting: Experienced in Farmers Markets and creating sellable products from the farm.  Two sons with no bad habits.  Specializing in welding and blacksmithing: able to work chainsaws etc.  If you do not have a position, please contact me if you know of anyone who would be interested.  Also have lead groups in trekking, camping, hiking, rafting, kayaking etc.  References and photos available upon request.

Are you still looking for caretaker for your farm? This is exactly what me and my friend have been looking for. Going back to the basics and finally being able to work hard yet find the beauty in the simplicity of life. Life has gotten so busy living in the city this would be a breath of fresh air.
