The most popular can also be used on:
coffee mugs
pocket planners
small notebooks
coaster sets
t-shirts
flash cards (adults and kids)
hand towels
gift/ label tags (company or product info. on back)
tote bags

Here are some prototype examples:

Do you know of a website that does that sort of thing one-at-a-time? What I mean to say is: rather than buying 500 mugs made with the design, there would be a place where you could say "I want that mug with THAT design" and the company would crank out one mug and ship it. ??

Hi Paul,

Cafe Press and Zazzle immediately come to mind.
Both do t-shirts, totes, mugs, stickers for gift tags, and more.
I think they are both "no upfront costs".

Cafe Press is more like Amazon in that you monitor the account
and pick the items that your image goes on. Once someone buys from you,
you then pay Cafe Press to make/ ship it.
http://www.cafepress.com/cp/info/sell/index.aspx?area=products&page=products

Zazzle is more hands free. You upload your images, then they send
you commissions for sales. People choose the product they want the design on.
http://www.zazzle.com/sell/designers.

Of the two, I would go with Cafe Press because I think it's been around longer and
has a larger customer base. I like their product selection better and you can take
more advantage of keywords by writing your own title and descriptions.
Actually, thinking about it more, I'd do both.

Checkout google images and google shopping (ie. competition) results for

"permaculture tee"
https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=permaculture+tee&tbm=shop

p.s. do I get an apple? lol

This looks like an awesome idea! Whattya think paul? It looks like they have the same money system (base + royalty percentage that we choose = retail price)

Heather,

I already knew about cafepress and zazzle. But I didn't think to try that google search, so I gave you an apple!

Yay for apples!

I used images as another way to boost my webpage ranking in both image and organic search
by including keywords in the photo "save as" title (instead of stuff like: j095nfo238.jpg) on my computer
and website image files. And in photo alt tags and descriptions. Titles under five and ten words is best.

As for checking out competition and what sells, there are other sites besides Amazon that show
"people who bought this item also bought...." like Walmart, Sears, HomeDepot, etc.
and looking at the sold history on ebay is good too.

Plus, a lot of websites and catalog companies have "bestseller" and "customer recommended" categories
worth checking out for more ideas.

Craft Count tracks the top etsy sellers in all categories.

Don't know if it goes here. How much would you charge for a box of 50/100 (preferable the gross amount they do in one big box) to be sent to Europe? Or directly from factory if that is cheaper/less co2. I can only get to the amazon link. And although I like passing on reference and direct earnings. I'd rather spend the money more direct.

Disclaimer: not for resale purpose. Just a great thing to have handy for whatever celebration you forgot. And naturally to get lots of people stoked about permaculture.

I'm not sure if we have 100 left.

I am just now running numbers for a reprint. The key is, should I print a thousand and keep things going as they have been going, or should I get 20,000 and sell them for half the price that I've been selling them?

I am thinking about starting a kickstarter in two weeks and then doing a cheap reprint. Are you saying that you would want something before then?

The last time I sent a brick (12 decks) to europe, it cost $61 for the postage alone!

Are you willing to pay $261 for ten decks?

Just to be sure, you are offering a brick or 10 decks for 261 us dollar? If it is the brick, then I won't haggle anymore and we'll work out payment and delivery details otherwise I am interested in your counter offer. (know it says 10 decks, but there is something about deals that make them taste sweeter )

Since there are so few, I was putting a price tag of $20 per deck. I'm trying to get them to last until I can figure out what path I'm going to take to get more printed.

Then it is $61 for shipping (and I just looked it up, it is now $63!)

In that case, please sell them to as much people as possible separately and infect as much minds as possbile. I will be putting my money in your new cards then.

I know this thread has been around a while but I'm sure it is still alive. I was wondering how one would get one of the awesome posters, now that I am done with school "to learn to be Monsanto's bitch" as Paul said I would love to put one of those awesome posters on my class room wall.

Alexander might have some.

And if he doesn't, he is probably set up at one of those one-at-a-time online poster places.

And if he isn't set up, he might get set up realizing that somebody is ready to part with coin for that.

And if all three of these don't pan out, then I suppose I could look into setting something up.

Thank you sir.  Sorry to ask, but how would one find his contact info? I see he is part of your amazon store, and his name pops up a hunderd times on the forum search but contact info.

Hi, I'm trying to purchase these but am in Canada. I thought the amazon link might be better for shipping, as it's obscene otherwise. But the amazon link isn't working. Anyone got a workaround for more reasonable shipping to Canada. Amazon is shipping me a bed for free. This can't be that hard!

Thanks all!
Nonie

I stopped selling anything through amazon - it just got too difficult.  And expensive.
