I have lived on this 11 acres for well over 20 years. So, yesterday I went on a walk around my property. I took a route I normally do not take.  With the leaves generally off the trees I realize that what I had taken to be vines were 10 to 2o ft lengths of 1 inch black plastic water pipe woven around some fence posts.   There is several hundred feet of it.

Now, I have no idea how old this stuff is. I would guess over 25 years, so I have no intention of running water through it. But, I do need to run a shallow underground electrical line.   This will provide the added protection I was looking for to protect the wire from a shovel or whatever might accidentally hit it.

So you think it's been there the whole time you owned the place and not dumped by someone who didn't want to take it to the dump more recently?
Either way, yes, put it to good use!

Hi Jay,

They were neatly stacked/woven in the fence posts. They were in the woods no where near where there was easy access. The big mystery is Why? It took some effort to get them there….though there is evidence of a one lane road/path having been there along the fence row. I have to remember that my acreage is a tiny part of what once was a several hundred acre farm.  There may have been an intent to run a water line that never got put in.   Or, there may be a long forgotten buried water line.  As I put more thought into this,.. They simply have to have been put there around 40 years ago.  As big of a mystery is the lengths.  My experience mas been that the black plastic stuff comes in rolls.

Good night. Drive safely. Here's a tiny ad for the road:
