Intentional Farming Community

Less than an hour from Seattle, Washington, is a gorgeous 20-acre historic farm owned by a Land Trust. The farm has many existing structures and infrastructure, including a large barn, a wash/ pack building, a large hoop house, tiny home/ trailer utilities, and additional outbuildings. Two current land stewards live on-site and are actively working to restore the farm and buildings. We (the land stewards) are looking for collaborators interested in farming and creating an intentional community.

This is a unique opportunity for long-term affordable farmland access. There is incredible potential for a community to thrive on this land. We hope to meet like-minded folks interested in community, permaculture, and education. We will shape a vision for the future of this community as a group. Bring your ideas, passion, and knowledge!

Ideal collaborators will have their own tiny homes or trailer for immediate housing. Building legal/permitted dwellings owned by community members in the coming years is probable. Priority given to small-scale production farmers or those interested in starting an organic production farm.

If you would like to set up a time to talk, learn more about this opportunity, and see the farm, please connect with us.

John,
It really is a great opportunity! This farm is a very special place with an incredible history. I feel lucky to have this opportunity to preserve the past and help build a bright future here.

I am in Australia and have the sort of skills and interest in history that would be helpful.
I cannot come over, but others may be able to help for 3 - 6 months at a time, have you considered that?

I have considered the possibility of developing an internship program here on the farm someday, but for now, we are not at that point. Mostly looking for long-term collaborators that want to help shape the vision here. Thank you for your input!

How do you define "long-term collaborators"?
Do you mean people who wish to commit for 12 months or more?

I would define a long-term collaborator as someone interested in co-developing a new intentional community with the goal of living here for several decades or more.

This is a lovely idea! We did just sell our tiny houses but if we get into our 45 ft bus it could  be an option!

I'd be interested in going and putting eyes on it and chatting with you. I work at an oilfield mancamp in New Mexico, and after every 6 weeks I get a few weeks off, and can go stay for a few days. I have some ideas and a bit if useful info on community set up guidelines that help greatly when setting one up.

If it is not too late, I want to express my interest, though I am further away, south from you in California, and I don't travel easily to something that distance, at least it is also on the west coast. I will love growing things in simplicity with sustainable ways. Can I also be in communication?

*POST UPDATE

We have decided to hold off on bringing on more community members until we are able to secure additional development rights for legally permitted structures on the farm. We will likely not have an update on this until 2024.

Just the other day, I was thinking ... about this tiny ad:
