Welcome to Permies Emily!

I was thinking of having a row of different varieties of blueberries. What are your favourites? We are in Heat Zone 7, Cold Zone 9-- so they will need to be frost tolerant.
I grow a lot of different varieties and can't really tell much of a difference. I would just recommend growing Southern Highbush and Rabbiteye blueberries in your area and growing a few varieties that ripen early, mid, and late season to spread out your harvest. They are delicious and super flavorful and also can take the heat!
Do you think planting strawberries underneath the berry bushes would be a bad idea?
Yes I think it's a great idea and a great use of space!
Also What are your other favourite berries?
Blackberries and grapes (muscadines and labrusca hybrids) grow well here and are tasty!
Good luck with your berries Emily!
