Hi Everyone!

QUICK INTRO: My name is Niek Wulkea, I’m a Health Coach who believes Permaculture is the missing puzzle piece in the Health and Nutrition Industry and what builds the bridge between Food Supply and Global Health Solutions.

I have big Goals but I’ll keep it to the point.

MY QUESTION:

Would any volunteers please kindly point Me in the direction where I can start building an inventory of established Permaculture farms Around the world.

I would like to buy some land in the near future and would like to neighbor a farm that is already well-established and where the owners have the same level of commitment to a goal that is similar to mine.

TIA!

Kindly,

Niek

Welcome to the forum, Niek!

I did a search for Permaculture Farms:

Hello Niek and welcome to Permies!

In my experience, good permaculturalists do, --- not tell.  By that I mean we just get about our business as it were , are more interested in doing good for our families, our farms, and our planet and we are just about everywhere.  You just need to know what  to look for and be able to recognize a the secret handshakes.   "That farm over there is planting on contour", "They are strip grazing with a leader/follower system",  "They pollard and coppice" etc etc.  So my advice to you is to find a degraded piece of land at a price you can afford in a location convenient for  you and buy it and follow your favourite flavour of permaculture and before long your neighbours near and far will recognize your secret handshakes and say to you "Hey are you into permaculture?"

Jeff's point is spot on. Permies are busy doing and building. They have hands and shovels in the ground. They can't be bothered to be "noticed" globally. They are busy fixing the world, in real time.

Perhaps the sites for "willing workers on organic farms" aka WWOOFers might be a source for the data you seek.

And frankly, the most effective secret handshake is simply "Hey neighbour, we have more zucchini/ squash/ tomatoes/ beans/ peas/ ~name. that.veg~" than we can possibly use. Can you use some? Do you have family that might be able to use some?"
