Well we decided yesterday to have a major work day..after shopping for supplies at 10 am..then having to wait for someone to bring the supplies we forgot..and doing catch up stuff while we waited..got the rest of the sidinig primed and painted for the shed..got the ice and water shield up, got the shingles on the shed roof, got the siding framework on, put up 1/2 of the remaining siding and lost our sunshine.

got up this morning and went to bank and shopping again before getting started, and then came home and personally ..i ...me....little fat old lady...hauled opened..spread 8 80 # bags of cement and levelled and watered it in..we are putting the floor in the shed by using dry cement in bags..rather than mixing it..it covere an 8' x 32" area 4" deep..which means we have to buy 35 more bags ..which i'll do later on..

that caused me to start having back spasms..so i decided rather than more building i'd do something easy..like organize the 8 x 16 toolshed..

so I pulled everything away from the back and west side of the 8 x16 shed and put one 4x8 piece of pegboard against the rear wall on nw side and then put 3 pieces along the west wall..making a storage corner for now..and then put the corner rubbermade tool thingy down in the corner and put$40 worth of pegs on the baords organizing the tools that were on nails and thrown in the shed..

ok so i spent abou 8 hours out there organizing the shed..lots of back spasms..and sore feet..and then i came in to grab a bite to eat..and after i'm done on here..i'm goint to take a muscle relaxer and hit the sack....(before getting up and starting all over tomorrow)

Don't push yourself too hard, Brenda.  When you get to be our age, God has a way of convincing you to slow down, smell the roses, and depend on His timing for such projects.  Trust me, I'm learning this lesson as well.

be careful! it is so easy to over do it. I am learning my lessons. I over did it in the garden the other day and later went to haul a water bucket to the bucks. i tried to pick up the bucket and it was abundantly clear that my back was not happy.  I said. ok. I am asking for help. the bucks won't die before my husband gets home. and i think maybe I have finally learned my lesson, I don't want to be miserable and crippled for weeks especiallly because I am unable/unwilling to take muscle relaxers and pain pills cause I'm preggo. wow. I think I am finally growing up. I am actually anticipating the consequences of my actions!

yeah well i was pretty sore during overnight potty breaks..but i woke up feeling pretty good this morning..found out my mom broke her pelvis (closed fracture) when she fell after someone hit her car last week..and she can barely walk now..went to emergency room yesterday..they did tell her to walk but not her 3 miles a day..took her about 5 min to answer the door when i knocked..she was using a walker..she is 89.

i was taking in to her a fold up crate with a long locking handle and wheels..so she can take things from place to place without carrying them until she heals better..

i get my stubbornness from her..

i am playing it slower this morning..will wait until afternoon to go back out and work any more..

wish it didn't all have to get done so we can store our winter supply of firewood soon inside the shed..(of course the pegboard didnt HAVE to get done..it was something i wanted to do)..still have 36 bags of cement we need to buy, haul, open, spread and water to finish the woodshed floor..if it doesn't get finished this year..some of the wood will have to lay on something over the dirt floor..maybe cardbaord or scrap wood..pallets..something? but we do have to make a way to get our firewood under cover before heating season

today we finished the shed..all except a little paint and the concrete floor..but we can put wood under cover now..

also got a bunch of flowers moved where i wanted to put a door under our deck for storage..so both doors are under the deck now and a huge storage area has been formed..all done..except paint as well.

after visiting my mom (who has a broken pelvis since a fall last week) i'm going to come home and get the painting done..that will be 3 more things to cross off my "before winter" to do list.

Wow that is a lot of work for one person to do --

-please take it easy -there is allways  another day--

-it can take a long time to heal if you hurt yourself -
-
i found out the hard way---if you hurt your arms and legs -

--you can't do much for a long time .

Well 5 trips to the Home Depot for bags of concrete (so as to not overload the truck) 44 bags..and a lot of work..I ..personally...myself..got all the concrete down on the floor of the shed and had the floor finished by 5 pm yesterday..it is rough..but that's ok..i don't mind that it is rough..as it won't be slippery..but it is done..

it is so good to have one project crossed off the "to do before winter" list..and now we have firewood going to be loaded into it by the end of the week..(leaving a few days for the concrete to cure)

still have some touch up paint to do..but should finish all that today...and then cleaning up all the mess..which i was too tired to clean up yesterday
