Before and after polyculture photos!

Once upon a time, this farm was in conventional, chemically-dependent agricultural soy.

We took the reins and planted it in 1000+ Christmas trees, fruit trees and nitrogen-fixing trees and shrubs plus lots of bee-feed mix, and we gave it a long due sabbath rest, letting the land become an "ugly" crazy weedy mess.

Now I'm finally getting the chance to see (and hear, smell, taste, and feel) a beautiful revival transformation towards permaculture polycultures.

Here's to life revived!

P.s. Anyone recognize the big herbaceous plant in the middle?

We planted just a few tiny root bits from a permaculture workshop led by Michael Judd. Look at 'em now!

Thank you for the inspiration!! I knew sunflowers were used to clean soil but I like your idea to plant a pollinator mix and see what comes up. And lots of comfrey. It's going on my list right now!

What was the soil quality like at the beginning? What is it like now? Have you observed improvement in these five years?
