I recently came across a proposal for a radical social, political and monetary shift to a culture of sustainability made by architect Jacque Fresco called The Venus Project (http://www.thevenusproject.com/).

His ideas seem sensible but the information on the website and the two documentaries produced about the project: TROM (http://www.tromsite.com/) and Paradise or Oblivion (http://www.paradiseoroblivion.com/), doesn't cover much of the actual design of this future society other than saying that cities will be built efficiently, that it will be a resource based economy, and that it will use renewable energy sources to power it.

I have been trying to find out if his proposal and design could actually work. Not so much from the social, political or monetary side of things, but from an ecological design side. The rest of the internet hasn't told me much other than personal opinions about social, political and monetary reform. I figured that this would be a good place to search for knowledgable opinions about the design side of a project like this.

So, if you have heard of this project, or are interested enough to take a look at it and provide some comments I would love to hear what there is to be said.

Happy digging

if they are about anything other than vulva worship, they need a new name to be taken seriously.

I find the whole thing a bit problematic largely because it is associated with the Zeitgeist movement. More about that: http://conspiracies.skepticproject.com/articles/the-zeitgeist-movement/

I find the technology implausible, also. Especially the proposals such as the Bering Strait Dam, undersea cities, and the like.

The Venus Project calls for a straightforward approach to the redesign of a culture, in which the age-old inadequacies of war, poverty, hunger, debt, environmental degradation and unnecessary human suffering are viewed not only as avoidable, but totally unacceptable.

The project is a veritable blueprint for the genesis of a new world civilization, one that is based on human concern and environmental reclamation. One fundamental premise is that we work towards having all of the Earth’s resources as the common heritage of all the world’s people. Anything less will simply result in a continuation of the same catalog of problems inherent in the present system.

At best watch some videos with Jacque Fresco (founder) https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=jacque+fresco It gives you the best way of nature of the project.
