First, make friends with other goat farmers.
Second, make friends with the local farm store employees that know about goats.
Third, learn what goats are being raised in the local area and buy the goats there. Learn more about that breed.
Fourth, get to know the local librarian that knows about goat books.
The last bit of tidbit information is to learn how to dehorn and castrate goats from one or more of those goat farmer friends.
It also doesn't hurt to learn about growing great pasture plants and soil health to help those plants.
One more tidbit, learn how to sprout grain for winter feed.
