My, my name is Cedar. I'm a poly individual looking to learn more about polyculture/farming/being more self-sufficient in Seattle and am looking for permaculture events to go to. Like edibles, play lots of sports, I'm an independent journalist, as well as a published author. I have my own blog, and write articles/zines and newsletters as well. Bit of a geek as well, love playing DND, and am also an awesome cribbage player, also love dancing.. Tend to gravitate towards older women (cougars). I also have autism and tourrete's. I also do artwork as well, feel free to ask me more or share about yourself as well.

Hi, Cedar,
Welcome to permies.

Can't say about Seatle, but if you like art, may this subforum interests you?

Hello and welcome to Permies!
You may wish to keep an eye out on our Cascadia forum for events - Lots of our members are from that area too. If you want to gain skills and experience have you checked out the SKIP program? It's a way of getting credits for the achievements you have made and demonstrating your skills. The idea is to connect landowners with landless deserving people to facilitate their succession planning, but many people just like to collect the badges!

Welcome to the forum.

This is not in the Seattle area though this is a great way to learn permaculture and meet a lot of nice young folks.  This opportunity might interest you at some point in the future:

I was also wondering, I have a lot of articles that I write about the environment and am looking for alternative papers to run them if possible. Does anyone have any where they live that would be interested in running?

I can't help with specific suggestions for magazines, but have you browsed through our magazines forum? There are several magazines mentioned with 'sustainable technology' focus that may be of mutual interest for articles. We'd love you to share anything in the appropriate forum here too of course, or if you have an online 'blog then a signature link is a good way of raising awareness. There may be more tips in our writing forum too. Good luck.
