Hello experts of the mountain west, I have a friend in Montrose Colorado (5900' elevation, zone 5b) who wants to grow food (yay). They have a fairly open lot with
irrigation water available. They would like to grow fruit
trees and shrubs but I don't know that part of the world very well. Looking at
local nurseries, the berry bush options are similar to my region (aronia, serviceberry, currants, choke cherries, elderberries) but they don't
sell blueberries... There isn't a tree listing for that nursery so I wonder what might grow there. I'm assuming apples and pears but what about stone fruit? Anyone have some insights for us? Thanks!
