So I am not one to brag but I am 50 years OLD, and yes I am beyond child bearing years thank goodness. I am a southern woman through and through even though I currently reside in California. Do I like it here? I like the weather and other than that no. I am so not afraid to get dirty and enjoy growing my own food and have been getting into the Amish ways of gardening which is a lot of permaculture. I am currently attending college at Merritt College studying urban sustainability and horticulture so that I can be educated in the science of it as well. I am also in the process of applying to grants from USDA mainly because some of the grants that they currently have focus on specific things I am doing such as no till garden, irrigation and energy conservation. I have come to realize that this is not something I can do alone plus I dont want to be alone so here I am.
Hi!

Oh I also have a English Bulldog named Johnny who is my best bud and goes everywhere with me

I will also add that I am not as rough and tough as others and I have tried this in the mountains of Arizona where the elevation was about 7000 feet above sea level and I could not handle that

Welcome to Permies! It's better to learn together than alone. It sounds like you've got a lot of experience. I hope you'll share with the group.

So there I was, trapped in the jungle. And at the last minute, I was saved by this tiny ad:
