I'm out of control and and must be stopped. Ok it's not going to happen. I haven't "finished" my greenhouse, but this winter I got it functional. I was so happy. I said to my daughter "look at all this space, so much room, I will never fill it". My daughter laughed and asked me if I remember the dining room last year.
This year I have been trying to be smarter, and not grow more than a few of each variety. I have also started later. These strategies were supposed to help. But... Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it I have decided to add more flowers in my life, and I have friends and family who want some hard to get veggies like habanada peppers, and white egg plant, so I have to grow extra. Then I keep watching YouTube, and reading articles, so I keep finding new veggies and herbs and flowers I just have to try. I tried banning myself from buying any more seeds, but I ordered two more last night. It's a sickness, really. ( I Just had asparagus from the garden. I have never tasted better, I can't believe how amazing it is. I saved seeds from it. I need to start those seeds 😁🤪)
I haven't filled the greenhouse yet, but it's definitely getting used. The really scary thing is at least a third, maybe even half of what I grow gets directly sown.
It wouldn't be so bad if I gave most of it away. I will definitely share, but most will go in the garden, which means an insane amount of time caring for it all. It's a good thing I love it. My garden gets bigger every season.
Starting seeds is so much fun, and rewarding. You can find varieties you will never see in the nurseries, and it's cheaper than buying the plants, but beware it can be addictive.
