the four pieces

I've already written about how each piece will be "better" than the previous piece. And I've already written that there will be four pieces instead of three. And I've already written that the last piece will be called "huspa".

Now to properly name the other three pieces. I think to help make the connection, I only need the first letter: O, P and S. I like the idea that the names are short and unique. Here is a quick stab:

1) ooba
2) perm
3) symboo
4) huspa

Last chance to make suggestions to change these before a random quick thought becomes etched in stone forever!

2) perma (sticking with the vowel endings, sounds inviting)
3) symba (... couldn't help myself)


What's ooba? I'm not making the connection there.

simba - from the lion king?

perma - a town near missoula- don't want to get confused.

Ah, I didn't know if it had meaning other than it started with an "o". The others I kinda get and relate to what area they designate.

1) oela - pronounced "AY-la" for organic entry level area (also a hat-tip to Oehler-style structures and the Austrians/Germans who seem to like "oe" in their words.)
2) permie - why not go with the name from this site?
3) symbi - why not go with the shortened version of the word?

1) oela --- I like your thinking on this one!
2) permie --- gets confused with something else
3) I was thinking that that might be the word we end up with for the people that live on that section.

I know I heard you talk about this in a podcast, but I'm having a hard time remembering the details and can't find the thread your referring to. Would the list of things allowed on each section be off topic in this thread, maybe just a link to the other thread?

Let me update it a bit here:

oehla

- attempts to promote a lifestyle better than that found on typical organic farms
- petroleum fuel allowed
- must have listened to at least 12 podcasts to get on land

perm

- ten times "better" than oehla
- paint is allowed, but not much. Maybe ten times less than you would find on a typical organic farm
- imported organic matter is allowed (very carefully selected)
- electric vehicles allowed
- must have listened to more than 90% of podcasts to get on land


symboo

- ten times "better" than perm
- very little paint is allowed
- imported organic matter is not allowed
- limited use of plastic
- small electric vehicles allowed
- use of a trac hoe once a year is acceptable.


husp

- ten times "better" than symboo
- zero paint allowed
- no plastics
- no galvanized stuff
- stainless steel and glass are okay
- no electricity
- no plumbing
- nothing is ever burned (no fire, no candles)
- clothing restrictions (no synthetic fibers, shoes, etc.)
- no trac hoe

Thanks for bring that over and for the updates.

Have you mentioned how you might implement these "chunks","pieces" or zones? I ask because these words bring to mind square and circular plots of land, where (from listening to pods) I imagine that's not the case. In my dreams of TL, I see HUSP being the flower disk of a daisy, and the petals of this daisy are symboo. Every other petal is missing allowing perm to jetty right up to but never touching HUSP, HUSP always being buffered by symboo. My thoughts were that the petals would all grow in and push perm away from HUSP eventually.

Also, while I'm expressing dreams, the zones where reversed, I know 'weird' right, HUSP was zone 1 because she was the most important. ??Dreams?? What can I say?
