Johannes Wardenier : ernieanderica.info has a section to help you figure out exactly how a Rocket Mass Heater and Thermal Bench will fit in and work in your present
home, and make sure you have what you need on hand before you start your build. I believe the section is called Building site plans, its an outline that you fill out, then
if you have specific Questions before you build they can address them before you buy any plans, I highly recommend this step !
After a couple of builds now I can't believe the number of mistakes I make, working out of order, and starting on a second layer without finishing the first layer, and
where did this extra bricks come from ? Especially if you are going solo without help from someone who can look over your shoulder and set you straightI would not
want to Try a build without a good set of plans !
I consider Ernie and Erica Wisner as good friends since they gave a workshop that I assisted at ! I can not be totally objective, but I have seen the plans, and they are
very detailed and cover all the important parts ! E & E do not release any plans until after they have lived with that design for over a year ! MY personal opinion is that I
would buy these plans if I had a need to build over a wood floor. Also they use spacing and air exchange to deal with having their Thermal bench running beside an
exterior wall containing Wood 2'' X'' studs ! You always get at least a 1/2 hr. of telephone or e-Mail consultation and they seem pretty generous with their time !
Good Luck ! Be safe, keep warm ! For the Craft and the Future ! PYRO AL ! - As always, all questions and comment are Solicited and are Welcome !
I edited this to add a General late note- I have been told that Evans' and Jacksons great book - ' Rocket Mass Heaters ' - is also out there as an adaptation in French and
Spanish ( and ? ) for those who think better in their 'mother tongue ! Big PYRO AL !
