I've looked everywhere I can think to look on Permies for an clear, step-by-step tutorial on how to post pictures.  Can someone guide me to an explanation.  I have spent hours trying to figure it out.  I have a cheapy phone that was a "deal" through Comcast, (read as, it sucks!) and it uses Google Photos.  Unless someone I want to send a picture to has a Google account, I can't send it without downloading, renaming and then uploading it to my desktop and then choosing it as an attachment.  It's very cumbersome; but even with all of that, from there, what do I do?  Thanks for any help anyone can offer!

Hi Barabara, I moved your post into 'tinkering'. This is usually the best place to ask about how Permies as a site works.
Have you tried this thread: how to post images on Permies?

Do you use your phone or your desktop usually? The desktop view for Permies has more functions at the moment, although our wonder-tech staff are working on improving the mobile view. You can use the desktop view on your phone - there is a little button at the bottom that will change the view ether way, which may help.

From the thread  How permies.com works - links to useful threads   I got this link How to Post an Image on Permies.com  which tells how to deal with pictures once you are here.

As far as download, edit, upload etc, that's how I do it.
If you use for phone for a lot of pictures, that's what you'll have to do unless you get a better one. I do very little with my phone, but it's camera is one of the primary reasons I carry it around.

Nancy, thank you so much for this.  I tried it out, and it said pics were downloading, but when I went to check at the end of the post, where I'm assuming it would show up, there wasn't anything.  I'll try again another day, but again, I've spent two hours fiddling around with it and I've got to get outside.

They won't show up until you actually make the post. They won't show up just in the preview.

This was after I'd posted; I even got out and then back in to see if they were there.  I'll keep plugging away! Thank you, everyone, for your help.  It is really so appreciated.  I think I'm on the cusp of success!
