Oooh, a neat tree in my dream!

Tall hardwood tree, the one I was looking at was about 35-40 feet tall, and nicely shaped.

I didn't catch the name right, it was Sweet (something) Nut. Similar word to chestnut, but that's not it, nor chaste tree, but something that sounded similar.

For over a month in June it put out long racemes of flowers, all over the tree, that were soft purple, pink and yellow mixed and incredibly fragrant. Think wisteria with more colors in each flower, and a scent closer to very strong jasmine or gardenia that flooded the area.

The nuts were the best part! After the flowers faded, in August or so it dropped things that looked like one armed maple helicopters. They didn't fall far from the tree. Each seed was the size of a huge fat almond, and the flavor was complex, almost fruity, and the paper helicopter parts came off easily. You could pick up a pile off  the ground, dump them in a bowl, rub them hard with your hands, and the papers all came off and you had a bowl full of awesome tasting nuts.

I was with other people who were picking up the nuts, I saw a big clump that had gotten wet, and the people I was with said "oh, we don't pick up the wet ones, only the dry ones!" I picked up a huge clump of the wet ones, and woke up thinking about how many pots I have to start baby trees in!

I SO wish I could get the neat plants from my dreams to come out with me when I wake up! Makes it hard to want to wake up some days, especially when I have a big bundle of seeds to plant that don't wake up with me....

:D

I have fun dreams like:
Tomatoes from a dream
I want this...serious hybridizing challenge
Dream tech the Permies want
Permaculture barter system from a dream

Pearl, thank you for sharing your oh so green world of dreams with us, I've loved them all. It made my morning to walk with you a moment there today. Here's to the strange sweet fruit of our mind's eye. Such a gift to travel that way! ❤️

A few more of the weird fruit type dreams....

I keep hoping someone can breed the things I dream of :D

(Well, not my nightmares. I don't want them bred. They are just as real and intense as the fun dreams. I have a VERY VIVID brain...)
