I was minding my own business, walking along what passes for grass between the house in the forest, when I almost tripped over these two:



Apparently, seeing this is quite uncommon, and my photographer friend was quite impressed and asked for a copy of the picture.  So for all you closet voyeurs out there, I thought I'd post it. My friend thinks the pair are the large west coast slugs, but I'm not good at slug ID.

I was picking tomatoes last week and watched a praying mantis on my tomato plant poop. I try not to take my phone to the garden but I wish I caught that on video! Some things are once in a lifetime.

This is exactly *why* I carry my cell - it's my camera! If it starts to harass me, I put it on airplane mode! On my land I never know when I might see something that I can't resist a picture off, although Hummingbirds drinking nectar from my bean flowers is more than my decent phone camera can handle!
