I've been waxing philosophical over this Holiday season. Some of the things I've noticed are ways that participating in SKIP has affected me and my family. Here's one example:
I dunno why, but I think handmade presents are the best. For Christmas this year, I handmade all 6 presents for my kids. Most of them show off skills I've polished working on bbs.
They are made with scraps and produced no garbage or plastic packaging. They were assembled locally. Most of the parts were sourced near me. Not perfectly. I am for sure not the only loved one who gave my family gifts this year. So there is still a garbage sack full of normal waste. But definitely a step up from Most Dec. 25th scenes!

WOW!!! Your kids are so lucky to have such an awesome mama!! I love all of your gifts but your target practice gift is giving me some inspiration! Thanks for sharing!!!

I certainly had some SKIP inspiration. I made a new wooden handle for a little pick tool that I sent to my mother-in-law. She and I are both left handed so I made it to fit my hand. And I am restoring an old Kirby vacuum with the hopes that it will serve us for years to come.
Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire.
They kept fire breathing monkeys as pets! This tiny ad told me so!
