Dear permies,

I have been in lurker on this forum for while, mostly keeping up via the daily-ish emails. I really enjoy the wealth of information, the friendly style of discussion, the funny memes and even the tiny ads. As I continue my permaculture education this year, I want to try and be a little more active here and figured I should introduce myself first.

I’m a 41 year old woman, living together with my mom and my cat in Germany (so English is not my first language). I live in a very urban environment and I have an office job, so my „permie street cred“ is not the greatest right now -  but on the other hand I’m a member of a community supported agriculture cooperative that produces most of the veggies and some of the fruit that I consume, I love wild edible plants and also cooking, baking and fermenting my own food.

I also love learning about permaculture and I’m working towards accreditation as a permaculture designer (it will still take me a while to get there …).

I look forward to sharing and discussing some of my experiences and learning from you!

Welcome to Permies!

I love the attention and niceness of every little detail around here, too. And I also am an urban Permaculture aficionado, so I will follow your future posts and your developing "Permie path" with great interest!

(Note: Your post is written so well I would have had absolutely no idea you hadn't always been writing in English, if you hadn't said so. The observation about "permie street cred" still has me chuckling.)

Welcome in the forums, Luise!

I also appreciate the friendly atmosphere here, people are generally very helpful and by just reading through the interesting threads brings a lot of inspiration and knowledge.

I'm curious if there could be a poll about where our individual permaculture paths begun... I'm guessing many come from an urban background, and gradually migrate into their Paradise in the countryside? I did :)

What is your favourite aspect of permaculture?
How do you 'permaculture' in your life now, already?

Great to see you here, enjoy!

Welcome to Permies!

I lurked for a it before I 'officially' joined so I understand. I appreciate the global presence that this site has with perspectives from all over.

I hope to see you in future threads.

Welcome to the forum!

I, too, was a lurker until someone ask a question that I had an answer for.

So asks questions so we can get to know you better.
