We bought a Hoosier base Monday. The enamel top is long gone. Someone had obviously used this in their garage, greasy finger prints and at least one boot print, equally greasy, could be discerned on the pine top.

I have been sanding (by hand) and scraping, and cleaning for the past 3 days. I almost (not quite) have it down to raw pine, clean enough that I won't mind putting edible cutting board wax on it and using it to knead bread.

Should I add this to the list of "wood tools" I've been refurbishing with cleaners I can eat or does it go elsewhere? I doubt I'll ever do enough to do more than get one PEP thingy, but... I'm doing the work anyway, so I might as well count it?

Originally, the thing looked like this, mine is a LOT rougher. https://www.ebay.com/itm/235709153068?

I have a pic of what the top looked like after 2 cleanings/scrapings. I can take a pic when I'm done and after I feed the wood. I didn't think to take a pic when we brought it in the door....

I'd like to point you at this thread: https://permies.com/t/210060/skills-inherit-property/BB-clarification-thread

I think that's a good place to ask and get the right people looking at your question. And also, include a link to the specific BB that you're talking about.

I agree with Christopher that the best place to ask about questions concerning PEP is in that thread.

There is always to Odd Ball PEP Badge if a project doesn't fit the others:
