I'm new to the forum, but I just finished my first
PDC this past weekend and I'd like to share a
project that I've been working on the last three years.
We're building an application called SEEDS: the Game. Its a host of minigames that you can play in your browser or on your phone that teach different
permaculture principles using existing game formats tailored to convey as much information as possible while still being fun.
Think tower defense to teach pest control (using beneficial insect attractors), a tetris game to show stacking functions and companion planting, a
swale building game to teach hydrology, and plant ID quizzes for heirloom and
landrace species. Plus, to make it really interesting, we're putting a real life challenge system is, so you can't get ahead in the game unless you go outside and document the growing world around you. The challenges will start simple, but for those who're keen will go all the way to creating food forests and living seed banks.
So we're bringing people on board for our team right now. We're taking on investors, graphic designers, developers, programmers, database engineers, social media experts, and marketing and PR types.
