Hi All,

I am looking for an Intro to Permaculture course in India for 12-15 high school students and 3-4 teachers the week of February 10-14. The school is in Bangalore, India area. We have a day for travel on either side of those dates. PM me or send an email to anthony.cook(at)stonehill.in

Thanks

Hi Andy:

I posted your message below to my fellow classmates in Geoff Lawton's PDC class - I know we have quite a few people taking the class in India (it's an online course). Hopefully one of them will be interested in helping you out. What an exciting opportunity!

Hi Jennifer,

Thanks for the assistance. I was not aware that the online course was currently running.

The class ended in August but the community is still active. I hope someone will show up who can assist you with your project - I know there were several participants in India and I believe one, at least, in Bangalore.

Hey there!

How did I miss this on Geoff's forums there! 4 months ago, a couple of my permaculture students were there in bangalore actually teaching an intro to permaculture course for a day! Do let me know if something like that is ever needed again any where in India.

Hmm... We might be interested in holding one in Ladakh in the far north of India in summer 2015. We're running courses on earth building and solar design in July and August this year, and Permaculture would be a great complement.

That would be cool. August should be fine for me/my permaculture buddies to come there. Keep up the excellent work!

Cheers!

Ooh, I have to talk with the other staff here and make a plan. I think it'll happen!

August might be good, or else May or June. The seasons here are the same as northern US and Canada, except completely dry. So a PDC earlier in the season would allow a little more practical work in the coming season. One possibility would be to run a course specifically for the 40 students and staff of our alternative high school. Another option would be to run a course for other participants, in which case it might be a mix of Ladakhis and others.

Actually our campus was designed in a PDC run for our students and staff in 1994 by an American named Jeff who worked in South America. I'd love to get back in touch with him and show him what has developed on the empty desert plateau he had our students envision greening back then. Does anybody know who that might be? Hmm - maybe I'll start a separate thread on that.

Anyway, anybody possibly interested in helping run a PDC or similar program here next summer, please post here and we'll see what starts to take shape!

Hey there!

I myself taught a couple of solo pdcs and co-taught one. I certainly would love to help out as a co-teacher or a teacher. Let me know how it goes.

Cheers!
