Attached is a sketchup model for Sepp's new farm, the Holzerhof. It is a 9.5 Hectare property in southeastern Austria, the hottest and driest part. The satellite imagery is old, and does not show many of the things he has put in place over the last year (his first year on the farm). I'll be adding more to this thread later, but I want to get the model out there so that people can gain a better understanding of the topography, as well as where some of the techniques and features I am talking about are being used.

Thanks for posting this Zach! I can't seem to download the model. It keeps giving me a skp.txt file instead of just a sketchup file. Maybe the files I've been attaching are doing the same thing? I'm not real computer savvy in this regard. Any thoughts?

When I download it it seems to work out, same for your model. Before I had sketchup set as the default application for .skp my computer would try to open it as a txt file as well. Try removing the .txt from the file name and opening it through sketchup.

Thanks for posting this Zach! This is really neat, do you have any information or links to information on how this model was made?

Great view of the space, I see lots of contour plantings...

I am not sure if there should be more? I only see contour lines and the before mentioned terrain and trees?

I downloaded the file and it is saying that it is a .skp format. I have SketchUp8 on my system and, even if I open SketchUp then pick the file to open, I am getting an unexpecte file error. Did you save the file with a newer version?

Jacob, right now it is just a base model for people to get a sense of terrain. This we can add to as we go, and people can gain a general understanding of the landscape from an aerial point of view.

Jen, I may have, attached is another version of the map saved for older versions of sketchup.

Blood pressure normal? What do I change to get "magnificent"? Maybe this tiny ad?
