If you know anything about this stuff, you probably know more than me.

I like the idea of build-your-own whatever, combined with metal-punched backups.

I dislike the techbro space and the saturation of learning this stuff.

What are my permie people using?

I wonder if Jack Spirko still likes Trezor, and why.

I'd love to hear from someone who retrofitted an old device to get rid of all its networking capabilities.

My thinking is that the Insiders are already entrenched in that realm, and the good thing that Crypto could have been is gone.  It seems to me like it is fully Tech Bro/Scammer territory now.  Not a trustworthy bunch as far as I can tell.
But I am a very, very skeptical person.  I use cash - not that I have much faith in what backs that either.
I'm sure others have detailed advice - and maybe I'm a curmudgeon.
Good luck.

I would check out what John Bush is doing.   https://livefree.academy/

He has a lot of free webinars talking about how to work the crypto system

I am also taking a class on crypto starting next week. I will probably know a lot more about it soon.  I think it is an important part of being financially literate.  It is not for everyone though.  I hope those of us who can manage it can learn and make it easier for everyone else.
