Ticks are in full bloom here in Maine right now (and other places) which is probably why this article cycled back around.

The premise is that by ingesting small amounts of sulfur, the ticks will not bite you. Has anyone tried this method before? Did you have success or failure?

I believe it works and dear hubby takes sulfur tablets during summer months.

I believe there is some evidence it works. BUT, the user needs to be aware that sulfur impacts blood sugar and functions as an antibiotic.  Also, allergies to sulfur drugs are common.  I would be cautious as to how far I opened that door.

There's a hot-spring that's quite sulfur heavy near me and leaves your skin smelling of eggs for days. I wonder if it would also help to deter mosquitos...

When i lived in the South Carolina low country, I would eat a single match head every day starting in late march or early April, all the way through thanksgiving. The mosquitos down there drink deet like sailors drink rum, but they wouldn't even land on me. A friend had told me that that is what they did in vietnam, because every MRE came with a pack of matches. I'm sure i was ingesting some nasty extra chemicals as well, but i weighed it against a hundred mosquito bites a day, and happily poisoned myself.
