Hi

Because this is my first post here I think I should share a bit about me here.
I'm planning to start a homestead in Bulgaria.
Right now I'm taking the Geoff Lawton's online PDC.
My native language is Swiss German and I can understand Sepp very well with the exception of some Austrian dialect words.

So, if someone needs help with details that have gone missing in translation, just ask and I try my best to make them clear.
I can imagine that there is a need, because if I watch or listen the life translated stuff I notice a lot of details get lost.

I guess the plans for the 4 1ha homesteads that Paul mentioned in the podcast 170 could be very interesting for me.
My best guess at the moment is that I can buy about 5ha without the a mortgage. So if it is possible to sustain a family on 1ha it could work for me and my growing family.

Regards

Hi Dominik,

Great to hear of your plans and your willing spirit, keep up the good work.

The 1 hectare per family project that Paul is talking about in podcast 170 is part of a large project in Russia. Here are the plans for a similar 1 hectare per family project in Kazakhstan. Having so much water retention is key for supporting people in such high density, these projects provide a model for communities of the future. Below is the plan as well as a concept perspective of the project.

You'll see that each family has access to water and a lot of the plots have access to water on each side. With a civilization system like this water can be an excellent transportation medium for people as well. So much more lovely to have large surfaces of water rather than large surfaces of pavement and gravel!

Thank you for your reply Zach,

I've already seen this rendering while searching for plans. What I didn't realized was that there were individual 1ha plots. Wow, what a scale for a project!

My funds will not allow me to buy nearly as much land as that and I want to start working as soon as possible on my family homestead.
I was hoping there were more plans on the 1-5ha scale. Well I guess I have to draw my own plans from scratch. As a aspiring PCD I can definitely use the practice.

Do you know the name of the software that was used to create the illustration?

I am certainly not going to ask anyone to undertake the large project I am about to mention, but if you felt the urge, it would certainly be a huge boon to everyone here I imagine. I think it would be amazing if someone with your background was willing to take the time to post Sepp videos and transcribe in the posting of each what he is /really/ saying with all the subtle details and nuances clarified in a way that live, on-the-spot translations fail to encompass.

You are right that this is too big a task for me but I stand by my offer:
If you have problems understanding something Sepp says and think the translation could be the problem or you see and hear his mouth move about 10 times as much as that of the translator, embed the video in a new thread and tell me which part interests you most via pm.
