I apologize, but I don't understand how to start logging the skills that I have learned. Desperately want land and to participate in the SKIP program. How do I do that? Do I email someone, or is there a button at a certain link? I wrote to you more than once in the last year, you may have responded to an old email address to which I lost access.

I read Sepp Holzer's book via the library, and he is growing lemons and oranges in climate like mountainous Denver!! Incredible!

I am trying Hieglekultur (spelling) this year at a small scale.

Is anyone else noticing a slow start to gardens this year?

This is the right place to get in touch with the skip team.  I don't know if they even have a specific email address, but they check in here frequently.

Personally, I started here
https://permies.com/wiki/skip-pep-bb

On the first post is a list of the difference categories. Gardening, building, textiles... pick your favourite one.

For this example, i pick food prep.  Girls gotta eat.

It takes me here
https://permies.com/wiki/102544/pep-food-prep-preservation/PEP-Badge-Food-Prep-Preservation

I can see all the different BBs I can earn.  Because I'm starting out, I would only look at the sand level ones to start with.

But wait!  The first post also gives advice and overall requirements for doing the bb in food prep.  Like type of cookware and important stuff (you need to read it for yourself, so no more hints from me)

Pizza sounds like a really nice dinner, so let's pick a BB I'm already doing anyway.

https://permies.com/wiki/103081/pep-food-prep-preservation/Bake-pizza-PEP-BB-food

There are lots of words, but the most important ones are here.

To complete this BB, the minimum requirements are:
 - one pizza
 - you make the pizza from scratch, including the crust
 - not burnt
 - dough is cooked

To show you've completed this Badge Bit, you must:
 - Link to/post the recipe you used (especially the part about the crust)
 - pic of the crust being made
 - pic of the pizza getting it's toppings put on
 - pic of the completed pizza and a slice of pizza
o showing that the pizza is not burnt and it is cooked all the way through

So, I would need to make the pizza, take pictures of the different stages mentioned, and also think about the overall requirements for the bb that i mentioned above.

For the most part, we are marked our ability to follow directions and nothing to do with how delicious the pizza is.

Once you've done a few BB and gotten a feeling for how it works, you can get a feeling if this is a path that matches well with you and start exploring bigger rewards.

From observing the system over the years, the best place to start is to start doing the bb.

Tldr: start by doing

Diane, it looks like you received two replies to your first question in another thread back in March 2025 from Nicole and Nancy.
https://permies.com/wiki/200/143597/SKIP-PEP-Badges-BBs#2897426

There is a setting at your profile where you can receive an email when someone replies to a thread you have posted in.  You can also use another setting for watching a word or phrase and you will receive an email notification then also....that one I find really helpful!
Having it set to your name means you won't miss any replies😊

I changed the subject line because the opening post did not follow the 48 hour rule thing-a-ma-bob.
