Butter Swim Biscuits

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

1 1\2 tablespoons granulated sugar

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

1 3/4 cups buttermilk

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter

Instructions

Preheat: Turn your oven to 450°F.
Melt the Butter: Place the stick of butter in an 8x8 or 9x9 baking dish and put it in the oven while it preheats so the butter melts completely. Once melted, remove the dish.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Combine: Pour the buttermilk into the dry ingredients and stir gently just until a thick, sticky dough forms. Be careful not to overmix!

Assemble: Plopp the sticky dough ball into the melted butter in your baking dish. Press it out gently so it reaches the edges.

Cut: Use a spatula or dough knife to slice the unbaked dough into 9 even squares.

Bake: Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the tops are beautifully golden brown and crispy. Let them sit for a few minutes before serving so the butter absorbs

mmm, a buttermilk biscuit is a thing of beauty. and I don't think there's much that butter doesn't improve.
I love that it is a "no-roll no-cut" biscuit-- that's usually the part I like the least. Smart to plop it in the butter.
