came back from a week away and something ate my morning glories! i think it was the deer, but thought i would ask you all!

one pic is from ones massing on the ground. another is from them growing on a trellis. both eaten all up!

Thoughts?

yeah almost certainly deer. they'll eat morning glories flat given half a chance, especially once they find something they like. the ground ones are easy targets, trellis ones they probably had to reach for. not a lot you can do once they decide a plant is on the menu unfortunately.

Our deer ignored Morning Glory in the past, but not this year. They also shortened my Iris which they haven't done before. I believe it's a combination of a drier than average year, hotter than average year, and larger deer population year.
