I hope this is the place for this. I just found this and it looks to be such a terrific cause! I am in no way connected to this other than utterly adoring this unique breed! The icelandic goats are multi purpose truely heritage breed raised by the vikings! With a world population of only about 800 and about 300 on this farm, this farm needs to keep going!

I've seen numerous pitches where someone claims to be raising money to save these goats. Iceland is not a poor place. They are perfectly capable of saving their own heritage breeds. I doubt that these goats will be slaughtered. I haven't seen the Game of Thrones angle before.

This campaign is to help save the familys farm (~2200 acres if i recall) and their wonderful large herd of icelandic goats. If they cant get the money to save it they will be forced to sell out. With what i see, i can most definitely see that some meat livestock person would swoop in and buy and butcher them all with not a single thought to the breed being in such a pickle. And killing that much of an already soooo small world population could really make or break them.
