is there a thread on how to put a picture on your user profile? I see some users have pictures and see the blank next to picture in the "general information" section but I am not sure if I am supposed to put a link there? or is there a way to upload one or what?

Yes. I've tried to add a pic (via flicker or google drive) but keep getting a broken link.
