Ups delivered the parts to the shop. Now if the correct parts were shipped is another issue.

It is back from the repair shop. ....still on the back of my pick up. We will see how it works. My opinion of DR has not improved. It has been over 2 months of fun and games with them. Most is well documented with email. I do have a high opinion of the repair shop.

I used up a tank of gas on it yesterday. It works well. Even with a 14.5 hp motor, it stalled in thick grass. But it still runs and I could coax it through the extra thick spots. I have not tried it on saplings. None of this erases the fact that it took more than 2 months after delivery to get a working machine. I did have the good sense to get a back up belt before I attached the deck.

Glad to hear it's finally operational. Takes a while to get the bitter taste of bad service out of one's mouth, though.

To clarify, a simple throttle adjustment stopped it from bogging down in thick grass. I took it through similar patches today without issue.

saw a most awesome walk behind brush cutter up for auction online the other day
a stanley 36bs, a 20hp brush cutter that seemed like it would be an awesome asset

To follow up, the machine continues to work great. If it can get run over by the deck, it can get cut. In practice, I limit it to grasses and brush. I am currently using it to knock down stuff where I will be putting a fence row.

I’m glad to hear that John. There are still times when I want a brush cutter. At first I looked at a diesel BCS back when you could still get a diesel. I like knowing that if I need one the DR is a solid one despite your rocky start.

I found out I can rent one. Not this brand but it it breaks within reasonable use, not my problem, I hope. Worth a try?

I bought a DR 26 10.5 HP at Northern Tool and Equipment on 5/22/24.
Followed all the instructions meticulously.
Ran it in a grassy patch in order to run it in.
Within an hour the engine blew. NO compression at all.
Took it back to NT&E in Tarpon Springs FL.
Their service is terrible.
Tried to contact DR directly. 40 minute wait.
Finally decided to send a note via their website.
Let’s hope their service is better than their agent. Let’s see??
Very dissatisfied right now.
I think I may have gotten a lemon.
I understand that can happen but let’s see how DR fix the problem.

Trash is on its second cracked deck mowing 1 acre flat field. I've only been able to get 6 mows out of it. I luckily have the 3 yr warranty , but they just keep sending parts and won't refund me.

Overall, the mechanics of my machine have worked well since I finally got it running. I have had a tough time with battery replacement. It is out of warranty, so I will probably change out the battery cables so it will take a more standard battery. The one I have uses an F2 connector. It is not easy to walk into a farm store and find one. Of course, ordering one through DR comes at a price.
