The dryer is a big energy suck. Definitely. Wes, designed and created a pulley style laundry rack at Wheaton Labs, which saves floor space as well as electricity. See it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81sahaGn160
But you could just buy a rack and set up the pulley system yourself.
