We are a 4 person family with a sweet homestead in the sierra foothills 25 minutes outside of chico california. on our 40 acres weve installed the essential infrastructure to be able to grow our food and build natural homes. We are currently seeking a like hearted, skilled family with young children akin to ours to join our great adventure. You may be 2 or more adults and 1 or more young children, aged 1-7. Real homesteading skills a must! You know you like good honest hard work, lots of time outdoors, have at least some of the following: permaculture experience, animal husbandry, gardening, orcharding, food processing/preservation, living off grid, simple healthy habits, natural building skills, round pole construction, carpentry, alternative energy systems, wild food gathering and cooperative living experience. In addition an appreciation of a combination of waldorf, homeschooling and nature connection for the youngins. Maturity and a warm attitude are a must. Financial resources to build a simple home and start a land based income source a must.

Why we are looking for like hearted, skilled family to play with? Because we have 2 children who would love playmates and farming, natural building and animal husbandry is hard work and so much more fun shared! We are able to dedicate ourselves full time to our permaculture homestead and resilient living. There are possibilities for income from farm projects 1-3 years out. We envision a farm share scenario such as this example: We start a goat dairy herd together and each family does 50% of the labor and start up costs and we share the income in an appropriate proportion as well. Or perhaps you would start your own small scale land based project: you pay all start up for growing shitake mushrooms and give us a percentage back for the use of the land. Something like that. Or you could have a greater ownership if you had the finances up front.

the elevation is 2200'-2500'. the property is a remarkable place with the best swimming holes, waterfalls in the area. we have been stewarding and developing basic infrastructure for the past 7 years continuously. we have cleared around 5 acres of usable land.

My partner and I have 7 years each living in intentional communities. We are kind, warm, simple hearted folks. Our children aged 5 years and 22 months. Please email with info about yourself!

Hello you four fellow homesteaders..... your request for a couple of like minded, like hearted people to join you... fits us perfectly..... BUT..... isn't there almost always a but...... we are not young, except at heart... but can be very playful.... please read our request for sharing land... and look in your heart to... see if you could enjoy having some elders on your property.. to work and play with... and share our dairy goat herd with...

Our names are Sequoia and Sunny
We are looking for a long term (permanent) Land Sharing Situation in the Western States, (West of the Rockies) or in Southwestern British Columbia..... We have the skills and means to build a homestead from bare land... We have a small, steady life-long income.... so we can be on the land, not working away to earn a living.
We are looking for property to share that has a strong, clean year-round creek or strong Natural Spring, lake , ponds... in other words, abundant water. But not too rainy (less than 45" annual) ....we do love the sun! Privacy, some trees, shrubs, some meadow or pasture..... and at least a 120 day growing season.
I am a Natural Builder of many types of buildings; underground Earth Lodges, log Cabins, Stone Houses, Tree Houses, Hobbit Homes, Thatched Huts using wattle & daub, Cob, Straw Bales, Adobe, slip straw, Board & Batten, hand hewn logs, hand split shakes, etc. I am also a very Handy Man, Being able to fix or repair just about anything needed on a secluded Homestead........ specializing in micro-hydro and solar systems.
My wife, Sequoia is a passionate food grower, having managed market gardens and small community gardens.... but prefers subsistence gardening. She makes hard and soft cheeses, feta, yogurt and kefir from our six Nubian goats, she is also a avid greenhouse grower, hugelkulturist, budding permaculturist, plant person and homeopathic practitioner. We have been growing and raising about 90% of our own food for many years. We are really into both self-reliance and interdependence with like-spirited folks.

We are Devoted to living Simply on the Earth. We are committed to Enhancing the Web of Life, wherever we live. We are Being the Change that we would like to see in the World. And we enjoy teaching and sharing our knowledge and experience with others who are on the path such as interns and apprentices. We have lived with, and shared land with other people for many years so we have developed good communication and cooperation skills..... We are able to live in Love....... We would like to plant fruit trees and bushes, put in a big garden, build a small Hobbit house, build a small goat barn..... and root ourselves At Home, on a piece of Beautiful land with you, being good friends and helpful Neighbors. If you might want to share your property with us.... as long term caretakers/Earth stewards,...... please contact us. Buying land together with some similarly- focused folks might also be an option for us. In Love with Life Itself... Sunny & Sequoia

This is an excerpt from a thread I created:

I want to find family-oriented communities without open door policies who want co-owners or people to share their land in a rent-to-own type of format. I want to find partners here.

Link your thread in the reply, if you have one, or just give me a heads up that you sent me a PM with more details about your interests and what you have going on with your growing or established community.

I envision and would love to be in an environment that values:

-Sustainable land development, ideally in a lush setting with water rights and plenty of trees for recreation
-Minimal electricity and low-level electromagnetic activity i.e. Wi-Fi and cell phone for work
-Use of basic tools and infrastructure for simplistic, primitive building
-Organic, eco-friendly, non-toxic and natural living/farming
-Homeschooling/unschooling, non-violence, conscious/attachment parenting (NO corporal punishment)
-Off-grid living, self-sufficiency, sovereignty, social activism and ethical microbusinesses
-Animal husbandry i.e. cows, goats, chickens, rabbits are all great!
-Tiny houses i.e. cob, gypsy wagons, cabins, yurts, bell tents, wofatis, houses on wheels, weather/disaster/attack proofing
-Prepping and self-defense strategies
-Canning, dehydrating, herbal medicine and holistic/energetic healing

That's not an exhaustive list so please don't feel you have to meet all of these criteria or that you wouldn't be a match if you are working on something else I didn't specify.
